Next to useless article...once again the media just covrs the sensational side of the story.  What was the SOURCE of those fish???  Isnt that the most important piece of info they could provide the public with?

I always wondered how healthy all those ground fish are around ambleside with the sewage outflow under 2nd narrows and the pulp mill up howe sound???

I thought it was a good story.  Yes, there could be much more info.  However, did you note that salmon have "untraceable" amounts :)  This one is right up there with the fire retardent in the fish (not from putting out fires).  The real problem is that these things are in the fish and us and we need to find out what we're doing (or have done) wrong and how do we clean it up.

Mercury in seafood is a legitimate concern.  I will keep eating seafood because it is still better to eat it than not (and it tastes great) but will moderate the consumption of the affected species, especially with my young kids.  The media will sensationalize things-they are in the business of selling newspapers, but the original report by the BC Medical Association raises the question of mercury in the two kids as well and they are not in the business of selling things.  The BCMA did not provide any info on where the fish was purchased.

I would assume that it was purchased or caught locally.
