That kind of reminds me of that Blue Marlin I caught in the Vedder last July ;D Do you have any pics of this Steelhead?
-
Ya, thats very unlikely..but not impossible. Do you mean a baby steelhead? If you caught a adult steelhead this early thats gotta be a record!
-
I was rather surprized myself but spots all over the tail white gums and the steelhead rose on the gill plates. The fish was 10 to 12 lbs. wild and a male. Lice still on so either a very early winter or a late summer. Ya there are summers in the Vedder. And I do have a pic of a Blue Marlin but not in the Vedder.

i have heared of steelhead caught this early, not often but have seen it, mostly wild fish though
-
I've seen two caught in the first week in Oct. in the last 5 years.
-
yeah, the early steelhead are most likely lost( Thompson strain fish)
-
There's no plausible reason why it couldn't be an early returning steelhead. After all, I've heard of early returning cohos to the Capilano being caught in Feb.
-
Stray summer run from another system. Summer runs are notorious for straying.

A picture is worth a thousand words, or would save a thousand words.
