My buddy took me out on his boat for my first coho trip of the season. Trolled spoons behind a green/glow 11” Hotspot. Caught my first cohos of the season. Caught one at 11lb 28” and another at 9.5lb and 25”. My buddy caught 1 at 8lb and had another at the boat but had a Misfunction at the Junction with my botched netting attempt. Cohos were caught about 80-100’ deep. Waters were not too choppy.
It was the same weekend as the Everett Coho Derby so saw tons of boats on the water. Also saw a number of Canadian flags flying from the boats as well as BC license plates in the parking lot. Anyone from FWR fished there?
It was worth getting up at 4:15am for.

Doc SG: The Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club, and the Snohomish Sportsmen's Association put on the event. Here's their promo site:

I didn't buy a ticket but I heard the largest coho was an 18lb pig from the Snohomish River :o with many in the 13-15 lb range.
FLYallAROUND: Yup, since I won't be watching the Nucks on CBC, will check out the S-Tips ;D
