I predict next sunday will be one of the BEST days on the vedder river for the entire coho season.

Yet another reason to attend the third annual Vedder River Festival (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=4516). ;)

Although i did catch one 3 or 4 lb hatch ho and a couple of steely smolts around eleven today , it was one of the those days that  it just didn't matter .
The sun was shining with the odd big puffy cloud flying by . The only double double i saw today was in my hand on the way to the river .  ::)Water was up but
 I'd say 2 to 3 feet visibilty . ;)
Little pieces of roe seem to do the trick . Good luck tomorrow Norm , should be a great day .  8)

Water was nice today, too bad the water is high lost a couple of nice coho that I cvouldnt get out of the current , seems I wasnt the only one with that problem. Must have been about 15 or so other fish hooked and lost because of the current, only 2 fish were landed where I was 1 coho and 1 spring, losts of fish mostly jacks rolling. River was dropping fast should be good over the next few days before the rain sets in again.

I went out for and hour around noon after the kid's hockey practice. I was on the bar below KW bridge and I couldn't believe that almost 1-year to the day someone descided they needed to have a look in my car. Last year a couple p-heads on motorcycles broke both my locks, ripped me off and then locked my doors on their way out. I had to break into my own car just to get in. Since then I've never bothered to fix my door locks and today was the first time since then, that I know for certain, someone has gone through my car. They went through my glove box leaving the inside a mess but at least nothing was broken. While I was on the bar I heard someones car alarm go off. Theives are still out there - don't leave nothing in the open. Listen for the motorcycles - expecially once there are a lot of vehicles around the river - when you hear the dirt bikes go a short distance then shut off for a bit, then start and run for a bit then stop again - put you rod down, take off your vest and take a buddy up to the cars and wait for them to come by. Don't fight them but take their motorcycle for a ride. ;D

Oh ya, I threw spoons others around me threw wool. Nobody hooked anything - nobody reported anything hooked either. Some guys are bottom bouncing with 6-8' leaders and 1-1/2 - 2oz bettys. Man I can wait till the water drops and the flies come out.

Decided to try the Vedder. Was I surprised- the river is perfect.  High but not dirty, that good greenish colour top to bottom. Between me and Rob we got 9 fish on. I lost two coho, but landed 4 jack spring. Rob killed one female coho. Perfect day no gong show. Anyone going tomorrow?  BP

Did anyone else see that guy on the board out on the river. Had it tied  with a long rope to the shore .
He was standing on it  surfing back and forth on the river.  :o??? :( ::) :P
Just up above Lickman .
Respect for the Vedder sadly lacking.

I seen em on tv doing that on the bow or whatever that river near Calgary is called. With an elastic cord and a good current they can get some good air time.

Hmmm the blackies are starting to multiply up there now....in all the years I fished such a salmon rich river and no bears seen until the few reports in the last couple years. Nice to see....a few close encounters and the upper river angling population might drop....Yeahhh Haawww!  :P

Fished the lower river today, only saw a few spring hooked, none landed.

Seems like only a few people get all the action.  They must be doing something right

And I did see that guy on the board...think a few fisherman didn't appreciate that.

Talked to a buddy tonight that was at the Vedder. He and his friend hooked into 6 chinooks. The old adage still applies; if you happen to be at the right place at the right time.
