Title: Harrison river coho regs
Post by: roeman on September 05, 2025, 09:38:40 AM
Reading the regs this morning and noticed  coho is only open  from hwy 7 bridge to the Harrison/Fraser confluence. No opening for  coho above hwy 7 bridge to Harrison lake.  Is this new from last year? Or is there in season changes for an opening for  coho  above the bridge.

In the past use of this boundary for coho has been an error that was corrected when people such as Rod questioned it.  Shoot them an email. If they were to limit fishing in the upper river a boundary at Cabin point (which has been used in the past) or the confluence with the Chehalis makes more sense. That may reduce targeting
of chinook that some people do.

I've sent an email out today to have that fixed asap.

Who/where do you send an email.  Think its time they got rid of no fishing from a boat on the Thompson River.  No need for it anymore.  There are no Steelhead openings anymore and would be nice to cast from a flat surface while fly fishing the Thompson in the summer time.

Thanks Rod for doing your magic! I was about to start emailing random people at DFO so you have spared them!
