an example of not understanding how to read the regs. 4 salmon per day period

you should phone something like this in when you see it. Do it right in front of the perp if the situation feels safe enough.

Maybe don’t phone them in. The damage was done. And good chance dfo /co. Won’t even bother showing up they have bigger fish to fry then a kid not understanding the bag limit. You should have politely explained to him hey ya you kept to many fish and the fine is big and sucks. Time to go home don’t F up anymore. That would probably go better. Unless your trying to be on a rock em sock em video. On Fraser valley fishing thread. I had to explain to a guy yesterday what a coho was he got at island 22. I showed him all the different salmon on a picture He said wow I had no idea. He released it. And said thanks.
Also I’m not trying to start any problems on here. You do you when it comes to calling in. Oooopies

I think it's clear the 'kid' had it explained. Maybe a call in wouldn't result in an immediate dispatch of a Peace Officer but OTOH maybe they'd do a patrol along that particular fishing locale more often. I've talked to poachers myself. Some listen (usually the younger ones). Some do not. Your approach suggests do nothing which invariably yields nothing.
