Post by: roeman on January 10, 2025, 07:20:09 AM
Anyone buy anything on this site?
I made it to the payment page and decided it was a bad idea.

Good for you to pull the plug on the purchase.

There are other fake Simms stores out there too

Best thing to do if you fall prey to something like this is call your CC provider right away. With AI and other tech online scams are getting far more sophisticated and hard to identify. With all the data breaches your card data may already be on the dark web. Check your card statement carefully. Once you've paid card balance,  disputing a charge may be more difficult. Positive side is card providers are making more tools available to protect their card holders. Notification of card charges both legit and fraudulent are often being sent out immediately - usually by text to your phone or by email. Respond to any that are not legit asap. Be
sure you are signed up for such notification.

It's also running on IG and it's 100% a SCAM. I ordered (up in the middle of the night to pee, then checked my phone . . . then got all excited and ordered a bunch of 75%-off items and went back to bed). Did the research the next morning and swiftly realized this was a credit card thieves' site. Cancelled my card and, of course, set myself down the ugly tunnel of having to change all the saved credit card numbers. I reported this to Fbuk in mid-2024, so I was surprised to see that advert pop up again a week ago.

These social media sites need to do better. Should be held accountable. Seen the scam a month ago and its still there.
