Clarki shared a photo of an impressive fossil he picked up in the East Kootenay in the topic below

So I wanted to post a few treasures of my own.
First a Cascade stone projectile point from the tip of Cabin Point on the Harrison River. I literally saw it at the waters edge:

Cascade points are common west of the Cascade and Coast Mountains and usually date from around the time of contact (ie 1800) to 8000 BCE. This one was likely a spear point or knife.
Then there was this chunk of jade found while winter cutthroat fishing east of Agassiz:

I was pretty sure this is jade when I found it. A few years later I worked with a guy who was an avid rock hound so I showed it to him. He was sure it was jade as well. It's likely not a piece suitable for carving.
Finally I found a broken middle piece of a projectile point. I don't recall where. It's defintely man made but could be some other kind of stone tool. It's to the left of the 1st one.

Good things happen while cutthroat fishing.
I found this black bear tooth three years ago.

when I was 11 I went bar fishing with my father. I reeled in the gear once and there was a pink condom drapped on the line.

While sockeye fishing the Fraser just above Jesperson I tagged into a really solid fish that put up a good fight. Got it to the beach and landed a complete bar fishing rig with 16oz weight.
