Title: Saltwater Sturgeon in BC. I never knew.

It's a year old but just found out. Sturgeon in the saltwater near Galiano. Wow.

Imagine if youhooked one.

I witnessed a sturgeon caught off the mouth of the Seymour during pink season about 10 years ago.

they have been caught in the estuary of the San Juan and Somass rivers on the west coast of the island plus seen jumping in a few other places.  Fraser sturgeon have been known to travel down to the Columbia river.

Incredible. I was always told freshwater fish die if put in the salt.

they can be anadromous.
