Title: Clam Digging Beach near Ladysmith/Nanaimo area
Post by: Tee on August 29, 2022, 11:33:12 AM
Hi,

Wondering if anyone might have suggestions beach area for clam digging in Ladysmith and Nanaimo.

I'm bringing my family (3 kids aged 5 yrs and younger) to there for a little get away trip during weekend of Sept 9.

Any info will be much appreciated.

Hi there,

Nanoose Bay is where you'll want to go.  We've gone there a few times with young kinds around 5 or younger.  Time it an hour or two before low tide.  PM me if you'd like more specific information.

One thing we've done in the past is cut a paper clip to the minimum size for manila clams.  That'll help when you're in the thick of it and trying to check sizes for keepers.

Good luck!
