Great video Rodney! These upper river off channel areas are gems and in years like this truly show their worth.

Haven't had time to watch the video as yet but did anyone expect them to all be dead? I am sure the flooding will have some negative effects particularly on pinks which don't dig deep reddds,  but it looks like the Chilliwack River didn't get a surge of flood water like the Nooksack, Coquihalla and Coldwater did. that flood on the Coldwater & Nicola rivers can't do Thompson steelhead much good in the short run. Long term, floods do a lot of good as well.

Thanks Rodney.

Is the off channel habitat that you visited in the upper river fed by groundwater?. Or does the proximity to Chilliwack Lake moderate the flow and clarity?

The channel in the video is called Angel Wing. It was one of six channels which were built back in the late 90s during the forest renewal.

See figure 1 and 2, that should answer the water source question.
