Hi All,
I'm wondering if I can get help with tying an egg loop. The version I currently tie is this one which mostly works fine but I often find that after opening the loop numerous times throughout the day to put around the roe that the back half of the knot starts to come undone somehow.

Someone once showed me a version of the Egg Loop knot where the back half of the knot was not fixed in place and could actually be slid back and forth but for the life of me I can't find instructions on it or what it's actually called.

Thanks!

at least 7 wraps below the loop. 10 wraps it won't loose until break

The sliding egg loop knot is properly called a traditional snell knot
Tied this way it will slide

I had looked up the snell knot before but in the videos I watched it was tied differently than the way you guys are tying it.
Really appreciate it, that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
