Title: Lowrance Hook Reveal problem

If anyone can help out a newbie fish finder owner.. We are having issues with it not displaying anything past 50 feet?  Confusing as it shows the depth just fine.  We were in 130ft of water, and when my son dropped his jig down, we saw it picked up by the sonar and disappear after around 50.  Same with any other objects the sonar picks up, blank past 50 ft.  The transducer is a splitshot and mounted through the hull with duct seal.  Thanks all in advance.
