Hey all
Is shrimp an effective bait for fall salmon? super store had shrimp on sale...
it's like almost a pound for $8 (ends may 27)
anyone ever use chunks of shrimp (white) as effective bait for lower mainland river coho/spring/chum-holio? I'm usually using wool and roe...it'd be a nice compromise if it actually worked lol
thanks

I know lots of people use them to tip jigs for salmon and do well. I also saw lots of people catching coho jacks on shrimp while river fishing last year. I still don't think there is a bait better than roe for coho/springs though.

this can be a very effective bait for Chinook & Chum Salmon.
I usually put some in a ziplock bag with a little pickling salt and a pinch of double red procure.
this helps toughen them up and they won't turn mushy

thanks all for the tips and info. I'll get some and keep it in the freezer.
