Hi all, I'm hoping to get some insights into why DFO has used three different descriptions of what is allowed related to Chinook fishing in our local tidal waters starting April 1st.
FN0345 https://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm?pg=view_notice&DOC_ID=244051&ID=all (https://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm?pg=view_notice&DOC_ID=244051&ID=all) and
FN0349 https://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm?pg=view_notice&DOC_ID=244077&ID=all (https://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm?pg=view_notice&DOC_ID=244077&ID=all)
Keeping in mind: the species that are actually available and/or open, and the mortality related to Catch and Release, why:
- some areas “No Fishing for Salmon”, and
- some areas “No Fishing for Chinook”, and
- some areas “Chinook Non-Retention”
Shouldn't they all be the same?
