Have you tried searching down south (US)? Craiglists in Seattle and the surrounding cities.

I did actually - I even had one lined up but with covid I can't get anyone to ship up to cdn. I normally would just have it shipped to blaine and pick up. I mean it's so crazy we cannot drive accross for business (which is the definition of a buy/sell transaction) but I can hop on a plane and go to b'ham.

There’s a 1264 on Facebook marketplace for 150

Thank you.
I saw that listing on Marketplace and contacted him right away, but somebody in Campbell river already scooped them (he actually had two rods for sale).

was the 1264 much heavier then the 1263?

the rod in the pic in yellow is a fiberglass rod. the HMG was the graphite rod and were fantastic in their day. The HMG 1262 was a beautiful coho and steelhead rod and the 1264 was perfect for the heavier stuff...I tied a glass 1264 as a bar rod in the 90's. which worked very well. I look for these rods and blanks as well but they are hard to come by. most of the older pretied rods are in bad shape when they come up.. never saw a 1263 in graphite. contact hardy guy if you want to find any available HMG.

Agreed, HMG stood for High Modulus Graphite
The SP line were glass blends
While lighter the HMG were more fragile in my experience
IMO the sp1262 blanks made the best lower bar and 1-2oz moocher's ever made.
The OP should look for a Lamiglas 1263 of the same vintage also, it was almost identical to the SP1263
