Title: ISO small centerpin
Post by: c-pin on November 22, 2020, 08:51:52 PM
Looking for a 4” centerpin. My 13 year old son is getting into using a centerpin and I want to get him a reel.

JW Young Seldex II / Campbell / or?

Thanks, John

a buddy got this for his wife and it's actually pretty decent - her's spins true ....about $60 cnd shipped

if your boy loves pinning he can upgrade and you'll always get $40-$50 for it used

what's your budget? I have several vintage JW Young & Grice & Young centerpins.
Rapidex, Trudex, Seldex, Windex, Avon Royal Supreme, Coq' Dor, Gypsy etc.
also have a brand new in the Box JW Young Ultra Lightweight

I second this as a beginner Pin reel.  Al you need to do it put some locktite on the reel foot screws and and handle crews and you are good to go.

I have put mine through some serious abuse and there has been no issues.
