Title: Day trip from Tunkwa?

I'm going up there soon for a few days, but would like to maybe take an afternoon to check out a different lake (not Leighton) just for kicks.

Can anyone r commend a nice lake nearby where there's good shorefishing?

Try Dairy lake. Its high elevation will give you the best chance in this heat. Ask the boys at Tunkwa how's Dairy been fishing and to point you in the right direction regarding what flies to use.
