Title: Brand new outboard question????

Just opened my brand new merc 6 hp 4 stroke. Anyway i know they dont come with oil in them and there are tags everywhere stating so and also a new litre of oil is included in the box.
So my question is why would it have some gas in the built in fuel tank? Is this left over from testing?
Doesnt make sense to me. Will be calling the dealer first thing in the morning.

You are probably correct.  They would have done a pressure wet test on the internal tank and fuel system.
