Title: herrling aug 5th
Post by: gmoney on August 05, 2004, 01:34:16 PM
Score for today is:
ME : 2
Sockeye : 1 (from yesterday)

Woohoo i finally got my 1st soxs of the season.  Both male 5 lbs.  A saw a few getting caught today, I would say about 20 sox landed for 40-50 guys.  started at 6.  Got my 2 around 8-9.  Left at 10ish.  Guy had a spring but never landed.  Still snaggy,  Only lost 2 setups.

P.S.  Used a wireless baitcaster from hummingbird.  Sucked my friend, can't detect over 30 feet from where you stand,  I wanted to see if there were any fish in the river,  at least i found out it works.  These would be  great for lakes,

...you used a fish finder? ??? ???

I've always thought it would be interesting to put a fishfinder in horizontally to determine how far away the fish were running up river.

Are you saying this will mean there's a good chance of ending up horizontal in that case?  :o :o

must of missed you gmoney, was there from 9:00am to 3:00pm today.  landed one right away.  lost 3 at shore and a couple further out.  hooked into a spring lost it after 5 minutes of tug-o-war.  you know the story the second fish is the toughest to get.  took one home.  it was a nice stuart approx. 8lb.  saw some horsefly brighter but smaller.

To answer the 1st question to me: YES i did try to use a fish finder, Just for fun, but its wireless, you know its cool have have these toys,  But didnt work too well from shore. from the boat would be great. since it can read up to 100 feet.

Fishbreath, I was there till 10ish.  I was in the UPPER part. I was the only CHINESE guy there wearing a red jacket,  You can miss me, Since I weight more than Leadbelly. Im pass the 200, Closer to the 300........
