Title: WTB- 10’6” baitcasting rod.
Post by: sugartooth on August 15, 2018, 03:45:28 PM
Looking for a 10’6” baitcasting rod. Preferably with a line weight of 10-20 lb range and med-fast to fast action. Budget of $100-$150. Thanks

I don't have any to spare right now, but in that price range you should strongly consider the Shimano Covergence or a Fenwick HMX.  I've reliably fished these for years and they've proven quite reliable with lots of backbone.  I don't know if you can find them new still or not, but even a used model should be under your budget.

The Shimano convergence is a slow action rod so not interested in those. I’ve looked at the Fenwick on line. Price is right. Just need to go to a shop and see it in person. I thought I’d try here first and see if anyone had something suitable and I could save a few bucks.

Cabelas has HMX and the Fenwick Eagle is a beautiful rod.

The Shimano Technium is the go to rod. They are around $180 plus taxes.
