Is this a 3.5? The 3.5 is rated for 7-9 wts;http://www.rossreels.com/images/tech_help/files/Line%20Capacities%20for%20the%20Rhythm%20Reel%20Series1.pdf

I have one and 9wt might be stretching it though it works well with an 8. Very nice reel with an excellent drag for the money.

I am tempted!
