Title: Vedder July 17/18
Post by: dango on July 22, 2004, 08:11:29 PM
I needed a break from work so I came down to get away.Ive heard all the negative stuff but couldnt believe what I saw. There were more parties on the river on friday night than in Meritt. I witnessed more snortin, more drinkin, and smokin up than in Meritt as well Im sure. There was fighting, screamin and stealing. It really was hard to believe that this was the fabled Vedder I was walking. The bonkin of the socks was brutal, and the locals seemed to be the worst. One guy tried to intimidate me into giving up my 2' spot of real estate I managed to find that was productive, one of your local finest Im sure. have a look around next time you are out. There is more to fishing than snagin "dirty socks" have some respect!

Yup Dango...stay away until Steelhead season. Other than that the place is pretty much the worst fishing experience possible. You can get some decent time in EARLY coho season, but once the Whitey's roll in, I roll up and out!  8)

With the opening of sockeye, will ppl shifts towards Fraser and make Vedder less crowded?

I tried to arrive Vedder tomorrow morning at 5:00am... will it be too late to claim a spot?
