Title: Vedder report July16 lost rod to kid
Post by: Jimmy on July 19, 2004, 03:41:54 PM
Well took the boy to the vedder on Friday and he took it and he isn't giving it back :'( ;D. My 8 year old didn't like the rod that my buddy gave him so he asked to try mine. Not a bad rod reel set up Abu 6500 10'6' rod. but it is the BEST I got. So I thought hell I need new line anyway....... sure.

Well I fished with the 9 foot spinning rod with the missing eye all night. He did great.

Lots of fish moving around nothing hooked but a small trout full of piss and vinger taking my 2/0 hook with a small hunk of peach wool.

Great night......time to buy a new rod reel combo ;D ;)

hey Jimmy,

If you need a new combo I would suggest "newguys" new store at Kingsway and Imperial.

Check out the posts regarding "new store in burnaby"

Good people ... good service...great prices

I feel like that guy in the Wendys commercial

I'm unofficial

But I did a lot of calling around and honestly Berrys was the easiest to beat every time I did a price comparision.

Could be I just called about all the wrong stuff... the Newguy did beat berrys... and babcocks pricing hands down.

Now spend your money your way... your business of course... and remember I'm unofficial ;)

What an unselfish example to set for your child ( unless you really just wanted an excuse for a new rod, in which case.. ;)), we need alot more Dads like you.

I have been to almost every store in the lower mainland, and even the worst was still not that bad. They are ALL friendly, knowledgable, and competetive. I now try to support another newby as much as I can, as he has been very good to me.

I won't name because for me this is not an advert forum. Driving about madly to save a few bucks is questionable to me, pick a good store hopefully close and support it.
