On the Bloody Decks site saw these footage of a tangle with our pacific coast Albi on conventional gear(30 wide's and pool cue sticks), let alone a barbie rod

Proper amount of side pressure applied.  Excellent.  More skill than a lot of so called sportsmen I've seen.

That looks like a lot of fun. Real test of skills and patience and not just hooking and hauling.

Biggest flounder I saw caught at Ambleside was on a kid's Spiderman rod.
