I have the Luxury of being able to fish everyday January - February on the Vedder. I would like to post some Fishing reports And was wondering how often i should post some! Please vote in the poll and it will give me a good idea on how to continue.
A report will be something like this[[[of course will be wayyyy more detailed if i catch fish]]]:
January 1st -- We fished in the upper river, Waaaay up there! Water was extremely clear and very low. Not even a sniff in the upper today.

The members fishing report section is for daily reports, so that's what's preferred.

It's really up to you man...I personally have not gone for steelhead (and I'm not sure whether I want/have the opportunity to this season) but I feel that if you want to post reports, do so whether or not you catch a fish. Either scenario is a learning experience and sharing both with others will educate and inspire others (especially newer salmonid anglers like me). Also you can get advice/feedback from more experienced anglers...it benefits both parties :) As for frequency of reporting, I really don't care..that's basically up to your own discretion. Like Rod said, daily reports are ideal but I don't see why you can't post a report consolidating a few days'/ week's worth of fishing :)
-
Chris has done it for years. It is very much appreciated.

Well if you would have replied to my message I wouldn't have posted this poll....
Ok I'll see what I can do, seems like the majority want reports. Was out today and nothing. The amount of people outnumber the amount of Fish 10 fold

Fixed it for ya ;)

If you could wear a gopro on your head and broadcast live, that'd be great, thanks. ;D

I'm lying in bed with a stomach bug 5000 miles from home right now, so not online to respond to messages unless it's urgent.

Post as many times as you please bud. Don't let negative feedback stop you. We all enjoy your reports. Tight lines🎣

Know just how you feel Rod, I'm only 600 miles away but dealing with norwalk virus. Only get up to read online every once in awhile.
Isn't it fun to drive the porcelain bus? UGH!

It is people like Kyle, that take the time to post pictures and do write-ups that help make FWR the popular fishing web site it is. It certainly beats reading about Fish Farms and how great the Leafs are. ;D ;D
Keep up the good work Kyle, fish when ever you can now, for one day you will be working full time, a family to support and become old like some of us that find it hard to get to the river, especially when it is cold like it has been.
-
Go for it, I will be interested in reading your reports, however frequently or infrequently you want/can post them.

Was tough fishing today in the extreme cold.
Nothing for me. I saw a fish jumped at the tailend and at the same time I had a bird's nest on the pin.
So I told my buddy to quickly cast in. He thought I was joking but on his first cast with a roe bag........BAM!!!
A 10lb hatchery doe.

I guess you might change your tune about the leafs if Steve Stamcos somehow manages to make it there, Heck, I might even have to catch
a few games if that happens!

Thanks Chris means a lot!!
Hopefully I can get a FullTime job doing what I love to do ::)
-
Thanks Kyle, it's nice to hear how the river is doing even if you don't catch fish. Please post.
It gives a few of us the ability to day dream with the photos you've included.... Keep up the good work and thanks again for posting.

I resent the old comment Chris. Vintage has a much nicer ring to it. ;D However, at 28 my eldest son has decided to embrace river fishing and we both enjoy the time together. To impart my limited knowledge is rewarding as well. Carry on Kyle, sharing some experiences and reports is a great idea. And I thoroughly dislike you for having the ability to fish your heart out. ;)
