Title: WTB: Heavy duty spinning rod for Sturgeon or bar fishing from shore.
Post by: Stevejet on November 05, 2015, 06:17:52 AM
Should be at least 9 feet long and in good shape.
Shore fishing sturgeon or bar fishing for salmon.
My budget is for less than $70, as I'm new to this and can't afford much.
PM or text me at 604 319-8313

Thanks

get a new one at berry`s

http://www.berrysbait.com/products/1/0/0/1/rod-reel-combos-336/sturgeon-combo-beef-stick-11-ft-or-12-ft-rod-df100-a-reel-22121.aspx 89$ rod and reel

but if you fish from shore I would recommend you 12f ugly stick ....

Thanks hyrena.
That looks like a great starter combo...however, I already bought a spinning reel.
An Okuma Avenger 65b.
I put on a 65lbs braid line on it.  So I can use it for Sturgeon or Chinook bar fishing.
Hopefully Berry's sells that rod separately.
BTW,  how much would that 12ft ugly stick cost?

I think I paid about 120 after taxes +- ...
9 feet too short for casting heavy weight (20oz) from shore .
also found depending on where you fish , I swap my 65lbs for 100 lbs and most of the times even if I got snagged , I`m getting all my stuff back :))))
