Title: Most sport fishing friendly political party?
Post by: redfishbluefish on October 19, 2015, 09:38:55 AM
Just getting ready to vote and wondering if anyone has any info on which political party (if any) has made any promises that are friendly towards sport fishing?  Have any of the parties promised increased funding for hatcheries or increasing the number fishery officers?

Its safe to say the conservatives have the worst environmental policies. I am using http://www.votetogether.ca/ to find the most likely non-conservative party in my riding and I am voting for them. I would suggest everyone in a similar position to use the vote together to do the same.

Well, not the current administration, to say the least.

From 2.5 million protected waters to 159.

Well looks like most of you guys got your wish. It will great to see all the rivers over-flowing with salmon like under the last liberal regime. You know, the one when they tried to close all the hatcheries, then when that failed tried to neuter them by banning the collection of broodstock off hatchery grounds, the beginning of the stock collapse, and the selling out to of commercial catches to the USA. Oh what a time to be alive.

While fishing and the health of our salmon returns do matter to me, they were not factors I considered when giving my vote to the Liberals. There are far more important issues in my life that determine how I vote.

In the polling station I was at, the Pirate didn't get a single vote. Even the Marxist party got a couple of votes.
