Title: Minimum/Maximum Tide Height for Ambleside?
Post by: halcyonguitars on August 20, 2015, 10:30:04 PM
Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me the tide height required to be able to Fich Ambkeside properly?

The first time I went, the low tide was .5 meters. I went back another time thinking 'yahoo!' and the bit of land you can stand on just wasn't there.

So what is the maximum tide height that you can still fish there? I mean, is it still  accessible with a 2 meter tide? Or are you starting out at waist level? Hope you know what I mean...

Thanks...

To make it onto the large submerged 'island' I would guess that the tide height needs to be about 1.8 m or less (using the Vancouver predictions on tides.gc.ca).  While low tide is ideal, Ambleside is fishable at all levels, with high tide producing fairly well too (see anglers just below train bridge).
