According to Fred's Custom Tackle's fishing report, some pinks are starting to show up on the lower portion of the Vedder. I haven't seen any myself yet, but that is a pretty good sign for a good season ahead. I wonder who will land the first Vedder pink of the season? Feel free to post your wisdom or fish pics on this thread. ;) Anyways good luck all!(http://rs300.pbsrc.com/albums/nn5/bonhommebros/Mobile%20Uploads/Screenshot_2015-08-07-12-43-45_zpscvasemgz.png~320x480)

Really? On the Vedder? The earliest pink I've ever caught was between 20th-25th of August.
-
So when do pinks normally show in good numbers at the Vedder? I rarely go there before Mid September because there's tons of Fraser Pinks close to Vancouver.
-
Yes on the lower vedder.
They usually enter in decent numbers by late August/early September.

The canning jars are just rippin off the shelfs man whoooo :o . ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
They have to go through Vancouver/Richmond before they get to the Veddar...

It's a bit early, but I have no doubt that some fish are pushing in. I usually start finding pinks in fishable numbers by late August. Sometimes I get lucky and catch the odd spring jack at that time as well. Time to stock up on pink jigs, spinners etc. before they're sold out! ;D

there is the odd one or two, a good friend of mine was out fishing with his buddy 2 days ago and He had landed a male pink. i'll see if i can dig up the photo he sent me.

No pinks in test nets so very few pinks coming up Fraser yet....2-3 more weeks than the flood begins...there are pinks at the mouth schooling up already for over a week.
-
Stopped at the Vedder today to try some pink fishing. River has come up a bit after the rain we had last night which is good to see. No action for me though. Didn't even see a fish rise, but I guess that is to be expected when it's this early in the season. A couple or so more weeks until the fishing picks up. Until then, time to start rigging up my leader boards! (http://rs300.pbsrc.com/albums/nn5/bonhommebros/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpscifl5hsr.jpg~320x480)

What is a leader board?

LOL! a polite way of saying BS you mean. :)

I saw one pink taken on the lower last week (between crossing and peach) which was a huge surprise given the timing, I had to inspect closer to make sure I wasn't seeing things but low and behold it was def a pink and fairly chrome one at that
-
my dad was out today walking his dogs along the canal and was chatting with a guy that had bonked a pink and was walking back to his car with it 8)

I wouldn't doubt that there is are schools moving in here and there but i think it's a bit of creative license of Fred's part to say that "they're here"

Bingo.
-
Tackle shop fishing reports can be very entertaining reading. In 2013, one of the local shop claimed up to 100 million pinks are migrating through the Fraser!

Without a doubt you have to take it with a grain of salt as their motivation to even post about a few being caught is without a doubt business driven
-
No doubt.
;)

Oh boy..now there will be more fishermen than fish on the vedder. ;D
