Title: Missed Connection (with my spoon)
Post by: Kever on July 01, 2015, 10:44:52 AM
I've been noticing that more of my bites are not resulting in a hook up. For example, last outing I had about 5 bites but only 1 fish to hand. Any tips on how to increase my hook-up rate?

An excellent blog on the topic (and there is also a substantial thread on FWR to go along with it):  https://outdooraddictions.wordpress.com/2015/01/01/the-trailing-hook-method/ (https://outdooraddictions.wordpress.com/2015/01/01/the-trailing-hook-method/)

That's the ticket, eh. Thanks! My buddies recommended that to me as well. I have 30lb test fly backing to use as the spoon>hook connector line. Now I just need to experiment with hook size.

You'll lose a lot with treble hooks, switch to singles if that's what you're currently using.
