Title: Alta Lake shore casting?
Post by: Hoop71 on May 10, 2015, 04:42:50 PM
Was thinking about heading up to Alta tomorrow with my light spinning set-up and hopefully land one of those purdy cutthroats ;)

How is this lake for shore access? Was looking at Google-Maps but the pics are in the winter so it is hard to tell about whether casting from shore is a viable option. Also seems to be a lot of private property around lake with houses??

Any pointers/tips about best parts of lake for shore access greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dan

The dock at Lakeside Park is very fishable and quite productive actually in the evenings when swimmers are no longer around. There is also a dock at Rainbow Park but that is not as productive. There are a few floating platforms at Blueberry Beach Park South as well where you can cast from.

Thanks Rod!

I think I will focus on Lakeside/Wayside/Alta Lake parks.

Hopefully will post a successful fishing report later tomorrow!
