Title: carp in como lake
Post by: fish fear me on April 18, 2015, 10:32:22 AM
Hi I fish a lot at como lake and have been told a few times that certain people come to catch carp in the lake. personal I've never seen someone catch a carp in the lake but it has peeked my curiosity, are there any carp there if so how and where (on the lake) could you target them. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I got one on power bait oddly enough, right after ice off 4 or 5 years ago. But I fished it a lot as a kid and never seen anyone catch a carp.

I know a friend who got one as bycatch, believe he was also using powerbait.

Used to catch lots of them in the 90's. Some good sized ones too. We would use light tackle, light pencil float and some sweetcorn With it just off the bottom and close to shore (about 15 feet out).
I havent seen one caught in there for a long time though. In my opinion they were fished out. Too many people keeping them.
