Title: 649 commercial: fly-fishing the wrong way?
Post by: ThatDeafGuy on January 31, 2015, 12:50:33 AM: I was watching the Canucks game earlier tonight and the 649 commercial came on, here's a link to the commercial:

I couldn't help but immediately notice that the fisherman reeling his line in backwards. I've never seen this before, the line is supposed to hang on the underside of the reel (opposite to the rod). Am I the only one who's never seen this before? Did 649 really make a blunder?

PS I don't think it's realistic for 5 guys to be huddled that close together while fly fishing... Something's bad is bound to happen! Not to mention the fish would be spooked 8)

There are bigger issues to worry about like Zack Kassian not in the line up today or under-inflated footballs.

The real question is are there any guess what river that scene was shot on? Curious as to where people think this was shoot. Remote spot or local?

Fair bit of people, last year Orvis had a blog post about this video asking ppl if they knew what was wrong.
