Title: Chilliwack River, October 14th 2014
Post by: dave c on October 14, 2014, 04:04:57 PM
Headed to the canal first light only to see the bar covered with water. Definitely fishable but considering the fact that I had my dogs with me couldn't make them sit in water as I fished. Headed to mid river. Water was fast and colored but found a small run close to shore that was much slower. As I geared up saw a spring show itself. Water was only about 3 ft deep. Seemed like perfect holding water. Fished roe topped with pink wool. Third cast after the float traveled about 5 ft. It buried and I was fortunate enough to bring a hatch doe to the beach. No other takers the rest of the morning.  Really grateful that my last four times out have produced 3 hatchery and one wild. Good start to the year!  The coming rain makes things look even more promising.
