Just bough a 2nd hand Minn Kota 30 motor for 75$, but didnt realize the lever is broken until i get home (lever that can ajust the motor to either 0-90 degree). Do anyone know where can I fix it :'(?
Even though there is a little pin/spring , and I tried to press the pin and the lever still stuck in 1 position.
Thank you

I think Mr. Lam that you're going to start to figure out to not cheap out on boats and motors.

yeah, im newbie on boat stuff :'(

Hey Jack I wouldn't bother repairing it. I just bought the exact same motor for $109 at CDN Tire (price matched). I would assume fixing it will cost more than $35 while you could buy a branch new one and have 2 years warranty.

Yeah true, I mean it still
Work ,now is just stuck at a 90 degree direction,it still do the work thou

I had the same issue. Mine was as tight as a dolphin's blowhole, but I got it working by pressing the button and wiggling the handle around a bit - kinda like the steering lock in a vehicle.

did your button broken as well?
The only issue i worry about is when shallow water, the motor will hit the rock, since it cant move it back to 0 degree

take a picture and post it of what is broken. This would help us in thinking of something to do to fix it
I know I have thought about removing the stupid plastic lever and replacing it with a metal pin on a spring sort of thing instead to lock/unlock the bracket to move the motor up/down. I just haven't gotten around to figuring how to do it is all

Actually , i just use a tool to pull up the pin, and it can move from 0-90 degree, so i think i just need to replace the plastic lever and will be fine. I cant put a pic, because my phone camera is broken

Time to start a thread on how to repair your phone....sorry that was to easy . On my minnkota it has a release lever that allows you to move the motor vertically up the shaft for shallow water , it's good to see you using some ingenuity and tapping into your inner McGivor to get your pivot to work , now go buy or rent a cheap jigsaw or skilsaw buy some u bolts and make your transom for your inflatable . You'll get way more satisfaction if you do it yourself .

Those tool can cause more than the orginal motor mount...:(
