Title: last chance for buying Sockeye
Post by: firstlight on September 08, 2014, 05:09:55 PM
With this most likely being the last commercial Sockeye opening I went down to the Haney Fishermens wharf and picked up 10 fish at $10.00 each.
The Haney Fishermens wharf is at the end of McKay off of river rd. in Maple Ridge
This opening closes tomorrow at 8 am.

The guy on the top level sells them for $15 but if you go down to the lower level there is a boat there selling them for $10.00

Came home and cleaned them and put them in the freezer.

Will be smoking and canning them soon.

Good opportunity for anti-flossers to go get some ethically/sportingly / commercially harvested socks and feel good knowing they didn't have to do the dirty deed themselves .

Friends and family have been fortunate to pick up a couple of nice fish yesterday and today for around $5.00 a piece.
Infact, that hasn't changed anytime throughout this sockeye season.
Expecting there will still be some available on the river tomorrow at similar price levels. ;D
