Title: Tidal sockeye
Post by: BCfisherman97 on August 30, 2014, 06:40:38 PM
Fished stuegon on the North arm today and the amount of sockeye jumping was amazing. Most fish jumping were 20 feet from shore and it was constant for the entire timeI was there. And this was at low tide. They were bumping into my line ever so often. Visibility was about 3 feet too

Fished the low tide for just under 2 hours so wasn't expecting much, just time to kill. Missed one fish after about half an hour. Gonna go try the rising tide tomorrow morning then maybe come back in the evening. Overall it's been decent the last few trips.

I watched one yesterday jump almost 6 times in a row ( sockeye that is ) I've been fishing sturgeon on the north arm as well and have seen so many sockeye jumping while I'm fishing but tried many times tossing spoons with no success some even jumping 5-10 feet from shore just to tease

Same thing at the south arm, fish jumping everywhere but they just don't bite! Tried lures, spoons and flies.
