Went there on Thursday in the middle of the afternoon for a couple of hours. The bar has dramatically changed from a few years ago. No more driving onto the bar; there is a large new channel cutting off access at the end of the road. A short walk along the shore to the south leads to what is left of the bar, maybe 20% of what it used to be. It was crowded with fish being pulled in regularly, especially in the obvious good stretch. Harder to find good spots at the top and bottom of the bar. Managed one sockeye fishing at the very top end and casting well into the fast water (the river is much wider at the top end so the distance to cast is much farther).

There were lots of people at the closer bar Saturday Aug 23. Outer bar was accessed by boat, saw half dozen boats beached.
