Title: F/N Dip Netting The Thompson River

A fishery that goes back centuries on the Thompson River. I filmed this the past week.

its good to see them using traditional methods. Where do FN dipnet on the vedder?

I donot think the sockeye are concentrated there.
On the T, in the rapids part of the river you see on the clip where the dip netting takes place the fish hug the rock walls as they migrate upstream.

Pretty sure traditional methods didn't have nets made with metal and synthetic netting. Granted that guy was earning his keep with what looked like dangerous work. Good to see the safety line.

Would be even better to see a lifejacket or PFD in addition to the safety line.  Interesting video - thanks for sharing Chris.
