Title: Johnstone Strait, August 17th 2014
Post by: islanddude on August 17, 2014, 01:01:47 PM

Fished Johnstone strait north of Campbell River. We launched the boat at  6am. We headed home at 10 am. My friend, his son and myself encountered schools of sockeye heading south on the flood tide.  We released three socks, two had deep net marks in their bodies and the third looked like it had escaped some toothy predator. We kept 12 nice ones, 7-9lbs. Lost or missed quite a few others. Fish are heading your way.

Good to hear. I will be trying Browns bay area this weekend.
Did you fish separation head/deepwater area or where you further north?

Thanks for the report islandude! One of the fish I got yesterday had a big gash in it and another had net marks too.
