Title: Campbell River, July 28th 2014
Post by: islanddude on July 28, 2014, 07:57:08 PM
They opened the Quinsam River  a week early due to the hugh return of pink salmon.
Pinks are comming up in waves out of the ocean into the Campbell River. Everyone is catching fish. Lots with sea lice on them. Can't get any fresher than that.
Rumor has it that the Eve is swarming with pinks also.
They are probably stacking up at the mouth of the Oyster and along the beaches due to real low water. Going to Coutenay tommorow so will check it out.
Heard that the Puntledge doesn't have very many pinks yet.

which is true.  i just came back from campbell river, stayed and fished there for 2 days.   The river mouth was full of pinks, people were catching them on all occasions.... me and my pals were fishing from the shore near the river mouth, and the action was incredible...every one was slamming them with buzz bombs, just cast it to the school of fish, and bombed! game on!
