HI everyone,
I'm doing my annual pilgrimage to the Skagit this weekend (anyone else going?). I'm wondering if anyone knows what the water levels are like, how the river is fishing, or has any other sage wisdom to share.
I think I might hit up a (fishing) bar in Hope or Chilliwack on the way back. Any good general spots? I've never bar fished before but am going to give it a whirl this weekend.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Andrew

Last week I returned from Vancouver via route 3 so I could check on the upper skagit. Looks slightly higher than normal there. I'm curious about Ross lake water levels - guess it's still high and swarming with bugs. Tight lines.

May want to read Sea-Runs' recent fishing report re: Skagit

Thanks,
yes I actually really enjoy Sea Run's fishing reports. Almost as good as Rodney's ;D!

Does anyone have thoughts regarding the potential for the rain we are anticipated to get Friday to Monday will make the skagit un-fishable based on water levels and/or colour?
We were thinking of trying this weekend but it's a long way if the river blows out.
thanks.

I wouldn't want to fish it Monday, but Friday and Saturday should be ok. I have seen pics taken at the 26 mile bridge only a day apart, with the second picture showing the Skagit like, chocolate milk. Smaller system, so it will blow faster, hence avoid sunday/ Monday.

Really appreciate the response. It's a long way to go from Vancouver to find it blown out. Thank you.
