Title: Chilliwack River, July 12th 2014
Post by: CohoJake on July 12, 2014, 12:24:35 PM
The fishing is definitely picking up but isn't hot yet. Fished below the crossing from 4:45 to 10:15.  Saw one landed (with our net  :) ) around 6:00, a buck about 10 pounds.  I had a couple of missed strikes, but nothing more than that.  The spring caught was on roe (looked like pro-cure or fire-cure coho roe) and my missed strikes were on fire-cured spring roe.  I finally gave up when the guys above me brought out the 6 foot leaders and bouncing bettys.

The fish caught (and missed) were in walking speed water about 6-7 feet deep, the middle of the channel - about halfway between the head and tail of the run.  The water looks great - I'd say 5 feet of visibility, and down a little since last week, making it much easier to find fishable water.
