Arrived mid river around 630am already 4 people there. No fish caught or seen. Fished roe until about 930 with no touches. I decided to conserve roe by fishing a new jig pattern that was extremely popular with the steelhead and bull trout this spring. Tipped it with prawn. After about a half dozen drifts the float buried. Had a very nice fight and brought a 15lb Chromer buck to the beach. Tight lines all.

A very light colored two toned pink/orange. I tied it during steelhead season trying to mimic prawns on the ocean. Pleasantly surprised how well it works compared to much more bright colorful jigs.

Sure. Bought all materials at Freds. 1/4oz Bent Rod jig hooks - nickel head. Two-toned cross cut rabbit fur (white with tips dyed a faint pinkish orange) below head, Marabou tail (Very pale pink) with a couple of strands of UV flash tied in. Like I said in earlier post....doesn't look like much when completed but in a few short months of fishing it, it has become my go to jig. One day during steelhead season on the first cast the float went no more than ten feet and buried. Nice wild doe. Next cast almost the same distance float buries 4 lb bull trout. I always tip it with a small piece of raw prawn. Good Luck!
