Several fish were caught by fly fishermen at the cable pool today.

Interesting. Thanks for that. There is no flow much and so low. How do they get the fish to bite anything?
-
Small flies.

I've never seen a fly get even a sniff from a fish in the big Capilano pools over the past three weekends. The water is clear and low enough to let anyone see how they react.

Go to the cable pool in the evening.

Just beware of bears while you are up at the cable pool towards the evening.i was fly fishing and heard a noise behind me and when I turned around ,there was a big black bear making his way down to were I was fishing.i made a bunch of loud noises and he turned away and took off.

That is interesting. The spots to flyfish at Cable Pool is from the deck side. You mean the bear came down the lookout deck? That is scary consider you have no where to run except to jump down to pool. LOL.

Being a local I know this is the time when you see the odd bear around the hatchery, they can probably smell the coho ripening in the hatchery or Cable Pool. ;)
