Title: LF: Trophy XL centerpin rod or TFO/Sage centerpin rod
Post by: Yaro on May 01, 2014, 09:42:05 AM
I'm looking for a nice float rod to fish salmon here in Ontario.
Looking for either a Trophy XL 9' 8-15lb rod, or an older TFO centerpin that is similar to the Sage 3113 (not sure what the model name is, but I believe it is a dark brown or maroon blank). Not limiting myself to these models though - a Sage 3106 or 2106 would work also - just a matter of price. I don't know how to send a PM on here but my email is ydaletchin@gmail.com so please send any replies there, or post on here. Thanks!

Yaro I think a Sage 2106LB would suit you great based on the fact that you thought the 3113LB was too beefy. Long as you can handle it being 10'6 instead of 11'3..

Hey n8, you're absolutely right - The 3113lb I had was a bit heavy for the fishing I do, even for salmon here in Ontario. I think a 10'6 would be ok as it would be mainly a big water, big float rod. I'll add the 2106 lb to my l.f. list as well.
