Title: Returning a Rod for Repair-Useful Tip
Post by: Dogbreath on January 20, 2014, 08:27:46 PM
If you're in the awkward position of shipping a rod south for repair/warranty work/whatever one tip to save a little money on shipping is to source some vacuum tubing for your rod instead of standard PVC pipe.

It's the right diameter comes in 8' lengths and is lighter and therefore cheaper to ship.

I always get mine @ Home Depot but it's around a lot of places you may have to ask a few people even @ Home Despot some people don't know what it is once you find the tubing have a look for the end caps they're very handy and cost pennies.

If you're really picky the stuff can be grubby on the inside I dunno why so some swabbing might be in order.
