Post by: skaha on December 25, 2013, 06:02:06 PM
--Quesnel lake East Arm... anyone fished it?
-- Closest access point to put in a boat for travel and camping in east arm area.
--Just in the planning stages for up coming summer expect at least a week maybe longer.

I've fished it, the fishing is excellent for big rainbows, lake trout, and the occasional bull trout. Make sure to check the regs carefully.

We were downrigging with apexes and spoons.

Make sure you have a seaworthy boat or stay right in close, it blows up in a big hurry and can get really ugly.

Stayed at Elysia Resort, not sure where else there is to camp around the east end.

I have been there a few times . Sayed at Elisia SP ? also  Caught my biggest trout 13lbs up the North arm trolling creek mouths spoons and apexes on downrigers  40 ft back 40 ft down . If you have a jet boat the Mitchel river is worth the boat ride lots of bears up there and big bulls caught many around the 7 lb range also make sure you go to the Niagra fals or the Lodge up the east arm thats used as a world class heli ski resort in the winter. I would recomend it to anyone !

--Was looking for something on east arm to put in to shorten trip to little niagra.
--Expecting to over night on the boat or maybe have to if weather blows up so didn't want to be paying for lodge site.

--Will be going with two boats for safety, camping and fishing options.
