Has anyone ever fished this reel? Looking to get one or something similar.
Thanks.

I have one and it's a great reel

Awesome reel, however I like my Daiwa Steez better.
I dont necessarily think the Daiwa is a better reel but I find it more comfortable in my hands and the Calais also seems to scratch easy?

Good to know! I was looking at the steez as well, as it has a higher line capacity and is a few ounces lighter. How do the 2 reels feel in terms of smoothness on the retrieve and when you're fighting a fish?

As both reels are really top of the food chain their differences are slight at best but IMO I think the Calais might cast a little smoother but the Steez seems more robust and smother when under load.
You wont be disappointed with either.

You better do research for both or maybe something else. There are many websites that do evaluations and comparisons of fishing gear just must devote a couple of hours. I use Curado 300 which is great for stopping power, but is not that good for casting light lures. It depends what type of fishing you want to perform.

Not sure what you mean, research..............I own both these reels and this is my opinion based on first hand use, not what someone else thinks.

i have own so many shimano and daiwa reels both in spinning and levelwind . after years of the using them, i find shimano is smoother in a long run whereas daiwa sturdy cranking power just unbelievable. Both brands have got very good reels if you go to their higher end.
